We’re excited to offer the PERME Filter—a truly innovative filter paper purpose-built for specialty coffee. We had the chance to experiment with these filters during their development and were immediately impressed by how much they opened up new possibilities in brewing. It’s not every day a new filter changes how we approach extraction, but the PERME genuinely does.

Made from a proprietary blend of food-safe PP and PE, PERME starts off hydrophobic, meaning it initially repels water. As you brew, exposure to coffee oils and acids activates its permeability, steadily increasing the flow rate throughout the brew. This dynamic behaviour allows for a structured, predictable extraction at first, and then accelerates into a fast, consistent flow—so you get both even extraction and a clean finish, without ever worrying about clogging.

What stands out most for us is the clarity in the final cup. The PERME produces an exceptionally clean profile. In our own testing, the filter performed beautifully across a range of brewing methods.

Another feature we love is the versatility. The PERME’s unique flow characteristics open up new brewing techniques—like inverse blooming, where you add water before the coffee—allowing you to play with different approaches to extraction and flavour development. Its reliable, fast flow rate makes it a standout tool for brewers seeking both precision and consistency.
